April 20, the Indian government said that it will officially launch the Semiconductor India Program (Semicon India) at the end of April, which is the first large-scale semiconductor event in India.

Indian Radio reported that the Indian Ministry of Electronic Information Technology issued a press release saying that "Semicon India 2022" will be held in Bangalore from April 29 to May 1. Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, Cadence CEO Anirudh Devgan and Ajit Manocha, president of SEMI, are expected to attend the meeting.

The Indian government will sign a series of memorandums of understanding during the meeting.

In addition, the recent report of the Electronic and Semiconductor Association of India (IESA) predicts that the size of India's semiconductor market will grow from $27.15 billion in 2021 to $64.05 billion in 2026, and by 2030, India will account for $85 billion-100 billion of the global semiconductor market of $550 billion-600 billion per year.
